KCT Business School along with Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts has partnered with Aavin to revive dormant village-level dairy cooperatives in Coimbatore. Students from KCT Business School and KCLAS are actively involved in this research work that will benefit the leading milk producer in the state.
Dr B Poongodi, Dr P Mohanamani – Faculty, KCT Business School, Dr Thanammal R – Faculty, KCLAS are the research investigators of this project under the guidance of Mr Saravanan C – Assistant Vice President, Kumaraguru Institutions. Allwin Kenneth P, 24MBA013 will be leading the 60-member student team from KI . A one-day training workshop was held, with Hon’ble Minister Thiru. Mano Thangaraj and Aavin officials , inspiring students. Dr B Poongodi presented the research framework to the students of KCT Business School and Rathinam Institutions.

The students were given a practical orientation on the successful milk procurement models on 12 July 2025. Students and staff interacted with Secretaries, Executive Officers, Extension Officers, Doctors and Farmers of Solavampalayam, Bhagavathipalayam, Singarampalayam and Muthur of Kinathukidavu Block. As part of the research II MBA & II MSW students were oriented on the functioning of successful milk cooperative societies. The teams received the practical orientation on fresh milk procurement from farm, milk sampling, testing parameters, feed, mineral mixture, records, transactions and allied services. The research team will be involved in direct survey with the standardized instruments in the next few weeks to discover the reasons leading to failure. The study is significant to the state as milk procurement is key to the success of Aavin.
