Ananta Aspen Emerging Leaders Fellowship
I had the opportunity to participate in the Ananta Aspen Emerging Leaders Fellowship, a five-day immersive leadership programme conducted in Rajasthan. The fellowship brought together young leaders from across the country for an experience rooted in reflection, dialogue, and values-based leadership.
The programme was built around Socratic readings and discussions, which encouraged us to slow down and critically reflect on leadership, society, and personal responsibility. The readings did not aim to provide answers, but rather to help us ask deeper and more meaningful questions. Engaging with philosophical texts written centuries ago and understanding their relevance in today’s context was one of the most intellectually enriching aspects of the fellowship.

A key highlight of the programme was the collaborative theatre presentation inspired by the Mahabharata, where we connected its philosophical ideas with contemporary global and geopolitical challenges. This exercise demonstrated how ancient wisdom can still offer valuable insights into modern leadership and societal issues, while also strengthening teamwork, creativity, and collective thinking.
Beyond the structured sessions, the fellowship created a strong environment for peer learning. Informal discussions, shared reflections, and everyday interactions during the cold winter days of Rajasthan fostered meaningful connections among participants. Learning extended well beyond classrooms and sessions, making the experience holistic and deeply personal.
The fellowship was guided by thoughtful moderators who ensured that discussions remained inclusive and reflective, creating a space where every perspective was respected. I am grateful to Shri Shankar Vanavarayar, President Kumaraguru Institutions, for envisioning and supporting such a programme that emphasizes purpose, reflection, and ethical leadership.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my HoD Dr. Sangeetha S, mentor Dr. B. Poongodi, Professor, along with Ms. Jeevitha B, and the faculty of KCT Business School for their constant guidance and encouragement. I also acknowledge the support of Mr. Nivethan and Ms. Kaviyarasi, who ensured continuous coordination and support throughout the programme.
The Ananta Aspen Emerging Leaders Fellowship has been a transformative experience that strengthened my self-awareness, sharpened my thinking, and reinforced the importance of discipline, reflection, and service in leadership. The learnings from this fellowship will continue to guide me as I move forward in my academic and professional journey.
