Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and Machine Learning using KNIME
by Ms. Praveena Velusamy, AWS Certified Solutions
Architect, Associate, Technical Trainer on March 17-18, 2026
A two-day workshop on Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and Machine Learning using KNIME was facilitated by Ms. Praveena Velusamy AWS Certified Solutions
Architect, Associate,
Technical Trainer, on March 17-18, 2026, for 42 Analytics students of batch 2024-26 & 2025-27, the workshop introduced KNIME as a no-code/low-code analytics platform, structured around the CRISP-DM methodology.
It focused on foundations, including business problem definition, dataset exploration, and data preparation techniques such as handling missing values, feature selection, and normalization. Participants gained hands-on exposure to KNIME’s workflow-based interface and node architecture.
The workshop emphasized machine learning applications. Students implemented classification and regression models, learned evaluation methods like accuracy measurement and confusion matrix interpretation, and explored deployment practices such as workflow automation and report generation.
The workshop offered practical insights into the data analytics lifecycle, enabling participants to preprocess data, build and evaluate models, and apply KNIME effectively for end-to-end workflows. The hands-on approach strengthened confidence in applying EDA and machine learning concepts in real-world contexts. This workshop was coordinated by Mr. Venkatesh Prasanna B R, Assistant Professor-Analytics
