
Play for Progress – Corporate Sporting Event for Social Change
on February 15 & 16, and February 22 & 23, 2025
Kumaraguru Business School hoisted Play for Progress, a fundraising sports event on February 15, 16, 22, and 23, 2025. This initiative blended sportsmanship with social responsibility, raising funds to support the Social Immersion Project (SIP) aimed at transforming Kallarpudur village. The event served as a platform to promote fitness, teamwork, and social responsibility while raising awareness about the challenges faced by the tribal community. Participants from various sectors came together to engage in friendly competition and contribute to a noble cause.
Corporate Sports Events (February 15 & 16, 2025):
Volleyball: Competitive matches among corporate teams fostered teamwork and sportsmanship. The event saw participation from four corporate teams: TTK Prestige, SLB, Bosch, and Peekay Steel Castings. Winners: Bosch, Runners-up: Peekay Steel Castings.

Carrom: An engaging indoor game that encouraged strategic play. Participants included teams from TTK Prestige and SLB. Winners: TTK Prestige, Runners-up: SLB.
- Badminton: Conducted for men’s doubles and mixed doubles with participation from TTK Prestige, Kho Social, SLB, and Capgemini, totaling seven teams.
Winners: Capgemini (Men’s Doubles), Runners-up: TTK Prestige.
Winners: SLB (Mixed Doubles).
High-energy matches showcased active participation from corporate employees.
Corporate Cricket Tournament (February 22 & 23,2025):

Corporate teams competed in a thrilling cricket tournament. Matches were conducted in a league-cum-knockout format, creating an exciting atmosphere. The match featured seven teams: Sakthi Sugars Limited, Madras Radiators and Pressings Limited, Sagility India Limited, ABT, Vispark Jewellers, Sri Padmaraj Jewellers, and Gilbarco Veeder Root India Pvt Ltd.
Faculty & Staff Coordinators were Dr. B. Poongodi, Dr. A.D. Shalini Prieya, and Mr. Senthilnathan M along with the KCT Physical Education Team, Dr. Kamala Kannan, Associate Head, Physical Education, Dr. Muthukumar K M, Physical Director, Mrs. Nirmala Devi M, Physical Director & Mr. Thangadurai S, Physical Instructor. A special mention to Dr. Kamala Kannan, Associate Head, Physical Education, KCT, for conceptualizing the corporate sports event in alignment with the social cause.

The overwhelming response from participants and corporate teams highlights the potential of sports as a powerful tool for social impact. The funds and awareness generated through this event will significantly support the Kallarpudur tribes, making this a successful and memorable event. Moving forward, SIP aims to expand the initiative to reach a larger audience and increase the impact on underprivileged communities.
