Run for Native Tribes
on February 16, 2025
Continuing the legacy of last year, the KCT-BS Marathon 2025 – ‘Run for Native Tribes’ was successfully organized as a key initiative under the Social Immersion Project (SIP) on February 15, 2025, at Kumaraguru Campus. This impactful event aimed to promote social responsibility and community engagement.

The marathon featured various categories, welcoming participants from all walks of life, including students and staff of Kumaraguru Institutions, children from Kallarpudur, the general public (sub-categories: under 35, under 55, and above 55), school students, and police personnel. With over 470 enthusiastic runners, the event transcended athleticism, emphasizing a commitment to social causes and positive change.
Building on last year’s success, the 2025 edition introduced a 2.5K Marathon for school children alongside the 5K Marathon, reinforcing the spirit of inclusivity and social commitment. A major highlight was the spirited participation of school children and Kallarpudur children, who showcased their dedication to fitness and social responsibility.
Recognition was given to the top six finishers in each category. Dr. S. Raghupathy, Strategic Planning Director KI, Dr. M. Ezhilarasi, Principal KCT, and Dr. Mary Cherian, HOD KCT-BS, along with the sponsors, distributed the medals for the marathon finishers. For four consecutive years, SIP has been a driving force in fostering transformative change within the Kallarpudur tribal community.
This year’s marathon marked a significant milestone in the SIP journey, garnering support for 15 developmental projects aligned with the PRME UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, reinforcing its mission of driving impactful social change.
